Emily completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy and obtained her Master of Science Degree in Sports Medicine and Health Science in Hong Kong. She has been practicing physiotherapy for more than 15 years.
She realized physical conditions and mental health is interconnected, which led her into a passion for learning about the brain, behavior and body. She had attained Professional Diploma in Health Counseling and Psychology and Diploma in Self Actualization Psychology. She believes body and mind integration is the key for a happy and healthy life. She is certified as a yoga instructor and had been incorporating yoga therapy and positive psychology into her clinical practice for over 15 years.
Emily is dedicated to pursuing continuing education to expand her clinical skills. She has extensive training in spinal and orthopaedic manual therapy with the McKenzie method, the Mulligan Concept, vestibular rehabilitation and women’s health. She is a certified practitioner in kinesio taping for sports injuries and ICB orthotics for common foot pathologies.
Her treatment approach includes a combination of hands-on manual therapy, myofascial release, electrotherapy, precise exercise prescription and yoga therapy to help clients reach their goals. Each treatment is uniquely customized to the patient, not only seeking immediate relief of pain but also developing long-term solutions and preventing future injuries.
With extensive knowledge of anatomy and exercise physiology, Emily has a broad range of clinical experience including sports injuries, work related injuries, postural dysfunction, arthritis, pre and post natal care, back and neck pain along with post operative rehabilitation. Emily adopts a biopsychosocial model in treating her patients as a whole. She believes empowering her patients to understand their condition and take an active role in their treatment is essential for the recovery journey. She cares about you, not just your body. She strives her best to get you back to enjoying your life.
